James’ sound is reminiscent of the greats (think Prince meets D’Angelo) but the Germany-born, New York-bred crooner pens narratives about love and making it that unfold like a party for the ears. He credits his soulful roots to his father – a military man turned preacher – who raised him on a mix of gospel, Donny Hathaway and Otis Redding. Includes the single ‘Already Knew That’.
